That's why we built the Certificate in Professional Coaching. Here's our story...
We didn't start North Point Academy to run a coaching school. We started it because we'd both been through coach training ourselves and knew it could be done better - better in delivery but also created in a way that was a better fit for people.
The CPC programme was mapped out in Café Rider in Dubai in weekly meetings over coffees, papers and conversations throughout 2015 during which we pulled apart and rebuilt all of our new models and frameworks and then tested them with ourselves and with our coaching clients in the space between. It truly was a labour of love.
It all came to a head in the first two weeks of 2016. We fixed a launch date (14th January 2016) secured a small first cohort and wrote the handbook which was printed at midnight the night before the first session. At the end of that first weekend we turned to each other, tired but delighted and said: It worked! Since then we have delivered more than 30 cohorts and certified 200+ coaches.

Sarah discovered coaching while leading a team and knew immediately it was for her—but it was a wellbeing fair in Dubai that changed everything, where she nearly knocked over a coach trainer in her rush to say: this is exactly what I've been looking for. She re-trained, built her career in coaching across the UAE, and eventually co-founded NPA. Her passion is developing coaches and watching them find their own voice.
Matt arrived in Dubai in 2006 and found his way to coaching through a lifelong curiosity about how people grow. Trained in 2011, he met Sarah through work and the two quickly realised they shared both a vision and a frustration—there was a better way to train coaches. CPC was the result. What Matt loves most is mentor coaching. Sitting with coaches in the deeper work and watching them become who they're capable of being.

Embark: Lay the foundations — explore what coaching is and isn't, discover the NPA philosophy, and begin developing your coaching mindset.

Approach: Learn the core skills of coaching — deep listening, powerful questioning, and how to hold a coaching conversation. You'll learn The Journey, NPA's proprietary coaching model, through live practice sessions.

Traverse: Put it all together — lead a full coaching journey from contracting to close, and begin practising with real clients.

Mentor Coaching
10 hours in total — 7 hours in group sessions and 3 hours individual — with ongoing formative assessment throughout the programme.
Graduation Project
Runs alongside all five modules, helping you document your coaching reflections, complete your mentor coaching hours, and prepare your assessments for submission.
By graduation, you'll be ready to apply for your ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential.

Attend 6 Months of Training
This is where it gets real. You’ll meet your cohort, your facilitators, and start your journey as a coach-in-training.

Meet Your Mentor
You’ll be paired with a dedicated coach-mentor who’ll support you throughout the program. They’ll help you set goals and build your confidence from day one.
Step 3
Join Basecamp Coaching Community

Step 5
Get Your ICF Level 1 Certification
Upon completing your Graduation Project and final coaching assessment, you’ll earn your Level 1 Certificate in Professional Coaching.
Step 6
Apply for Your ICF ACC Credential
With your certificate and 100 hours of coaching experience, you’ll be ready to apply directly to the ICF for your Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential.
